Plaque text:

"About 1905 this fountain was placed by the ladies of the Civil League at the intersection of SE 1st St and 1st Ave as a watering place for horses. It was moved in front of the Old Post Office in 1911, and was preserved here on October of 1972."

Round basin is approximately 10 feet across. It is surrounded by a square with pretty flowers. Each side of the square pillar in the center has a lion's head from which the water flows. The top of the pillar has a small light.
