"Das Gebäude der ehemaligen preußischen Regierung für den Regierungsbezirk Koblenz und des Hauptsteueramtes wurde 1902 bis 1906 unter Leitung des Berliner Geheimen Baurats Paul Kieschke und des Koblenzer Bauamts an der Stelle des ehemaligen kurtrierischen Waisenhauses im Stil der Wilhelminischen Neoromantik erbaut. Kaiser Wilhelm II. nahm eigenhändig Änderungen am Plan bezüglich der Türme und Dächer vor. Sein Anliegen war, an die als Vorbild nationaler Größe angesehene Stauferzeit anzuknüpfen.
Der 158 m lange neoromanische Bau, der einst die (Bezirks-) Regierung des Regierungsbezirkes Koblenz, das Hauptsteueramt, beherbergte, bestimmt auch heute noch entscheidend das Bild der Rheinfront. Es entstand ein mächtiger neuromanischer Komplex um zwei Binnenhöfe mit Seitenflügeln. Die viergeschossige Hauptfront am Ufer mit wuchtigem giebelbekrönten Mittelpavillon wirkt durch die großen Ecktürme und die Tuffsteinverkleidung der Fassaden wie ein Kastell. Im Inneren befinden sich monumentale Treppenanlagen mit gewölbten Hallen und herausragenden Steinmetzarbeiten.
Seit 1961 befindet sich im ehemaligen preußischen Regierungsgebäude das Präsidium des Bundesamtes für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung und nachdem die Restaurierungsarbeiten 1993 abgeschlossen waren, im südlichen Teil das Oberlandesgericht Koblenz."

"The building of the former Prussian government for the administrative district Koblenz and of the main tax office was built 1902 to 1906 under the direction of the Berlin secret building author Paul Kieschke and the building authority Koblenzer on the place of the former Kurtrier orphanage in the style of the William Neoromantik. Kaiser Wilhelm II himself made changes to the plan regarding the towers and roofs. His aim was to build on the Staufer period, which was regarded as the model of national greatness.
The 158 m long Neo-Romanesque building, which once housed the (district) government of the Koblenz administrative district, the main tax office, still determines the image of the Rhine front today. The result was a powerful neo-Romanesque complex around two inland courtyards with side wings. The four-storey main front on the shore with a massive gabled central pavilion looks like a fort by the large corner towers and the tuff cladding of the facades. Inside there are monumental staircases with vaulted halls and outstanding stone carvings.
Since 1961, the presidium of the Federal Office for Defense Technology and Procurement has been located in the former Prussian government building and after the restoration work was completed in 1993, in the southern part of the Higher Regional Court Koblenz."
