The deceased from 1934 to the autumn of 1939 in the prison camp Oberlangen were buried on the "camp cemetery Börgermoor" (today burial site Esterwegen).
In September 1939, the High Command of the Wehrmacht took over the camp as a prisoner of war camp. On the cemetery near the camp, according to grave lists, 62 unknown and 2 unknown as well as 2,000 to 4,000 unknown Soviet prisoners of war rest in individual graves.
