The distances between settlements in this part of Alberta are huge. I imagine that this church would gather people from 30-50 km away.

Based on the plaques next to the church, there were at least a couple of pioneers families that got things rolling for St. Isidore. Jacob and Mary Allers had 11 children and Bernard and Anna Vornbrock also had 11 children.

The church is still active with mass being held on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. There is a large cemetery behind the church - I think the original planners were expecting 1,000s of people to be buried. It turns out there are more like 150.
