The grave of Sophie Tucker is marked with a large granite monument with Star of David and the inscription SOPHIE TUCKER. The horizontal marker has the English inscription:

JAN. 13, 1887 - FEB. 9, 1966


Sophie Tucker began her professional career as an entertainer in vaudeville as a singer and comedienne. In 1909, she performed with the Ziegfeld Follies and was then hired by theater owner and talent agent William Morris.

She gained great popularity as a singer, sometimes with songs with risque lyric. Thus, she was given the nickname "The Last Of The Red-Hot Mamas". Among her best known songs are:

"Life Begins at Forty"
"The Older They Get The Younger They Want 'Em"
"No One Woman Can Satisfy Any One Man All The Time"
