Sophie Tucker began her professional career as an entertainer in vaudeville as a singer and comedienne. In 1909, she performed with the Ziegfeld Follies and was then hired by theater owner and talent agent William Morris.
She gained great popularity as a singer, sometimes with songs with risque lyric. Thus, she was given the nickname "The Last Of The Red-Hot Mamas". Among her best known songs are:
