Sorry, as a vegetarian I wasn't going to go out and try the slogan for myself, as the last time I went fishing (4+ decades ago) the only thing I caught was a 30 cm mud crab!
Manilla is a small town about 45 km northwest of Tamworth, on the Fossickers Way. It is known for the fresh-water fishing, paragliding, and soaring. It has a population of 2,000+. Being at the junction of the Manilla and Namoi Rivers it was a common gathering place for the indigenous Aborigines of the Kamilaroi tribe.
In 1994, Fiona Coote, a resident of Manilla, became Australia's youngest heart transplant recipient. (Some information from Wikipedia: (
