There are a number of Canadian and US Benchmarks at Cape Spear, and depending on the age of this brass disk, it is possible that this one represents a third "political entity", given that the colony of Newfoundland did not enter the Dominion of Canada until 1949. All of that is mere speculation of course, since I could not find any information online about this or other "Newfoundland Crown Land Survey" disks. This was is quite worn; it appears to have the markings "026" and "520" on it, but there could be other digits that are no longer legible.
To find the mark, make you way to the most easterly point in North America and follow the "Cape Spear Path" south-southwest past the lighthouses until you reach the disk.
