Findagrave has an earlier photo of the inscription plate, but this monument is badly faded by time and the elements. There is a peeled-back piece of bark which reveals a camp name and number, but it is too faded to read. The plate reads:

Joseph F.
Roberson

Born
Dec. 25, 1877

Died
Mar. 31, 1914

The pains of death
are past
Labor and sorrow
cease
And life's long war-
fare closed at last
His soul is found in
peace.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
