Your first thoughts are THERE is King Kong but it is a Gorilla Artwork called Baboe.
It is inspired by a gorrila named Bao Bao (

----
Apenheul Primate Park (

It opened in 1971 and was the first zoo in the world where monkeys could walk around freely in the forest and between the visitors. It started with just a few species, now it displays more than 30 different primates, among them bonobo, gorilla and orangutan.
----
The artwork is a gift from Apenheul to the city center of Apeldoorn. It was specially designed for Apeldoorn by artist Lisa Roet from Australia, who has adorned several major cities worldwide with the monkey as a muse.
Material gorilla similar to that of a hot air balloon.
The gorilla artwork is made from a durable, fireproof, water-tight inflatable material; comparable to a hot air balloon. It is sewn by hand and detailed to create texture and details. Two fans ensure that the artwork remains inflated. In bad weather - above wind force 5 - the artwork is lowered until the weather allows the weather to blow up. The work remains the property of the artist and can be exhibited in other cities after Apeldoorn. Artist Lisa Roet: ,, The assignment was to present it on the town square of Apeldoorn to show everyone this gorilla. With the gorilla I also make people aware of these beautiful creatures, who are close animal relatives of humans ”. Lisa Roet already has a nice follow-on destination in mind: ,, I hope that this artwork will travel further to Taiwan, where the gorilla Bao Bao from Apenheul and where the artwork is based come from. It could work as a cultural icon, and in that way demand even more attention for the importance of nature conservation and protection of the gorilla ”.
