Fat Daddies Cafe - Wellston, OK - Independent Diners on Waymarking.com

We were out on a Waymarking trip on a Friday evening, and were so pleased to discover this downtown cafe which had recently been opened in March 2019. The cafe is located in a one-story brick building at 306 2nd Street.

Inside, you walk into a restaurant you might find in many of Oklahoma's small towns. The walls are covered with country and farm memorabilia, the staff is friendly and everyone knows each other (except YOU are new). The cafe has booths and tables, and a nice salad bar. The menu has everything from Steaks chicken and catfish, to hamburgers and sandwiches.

It wasn't long before one of the "fat daddies" owners came to our table to chat, and you could tell he was in business doing exactly what he wanted to do, and he said his partner in the kitchen was where he wanted to be. We noticed that the front of the menu says, "Never trust a skinny cook!!!!" We enjoyed our meal and the down home atmosphere. Wellston is just a quick stop off Route 66 and the Turner Turnpike, so stop in whenever you're in the area.
