Within a couple days prior to my visit, the area suffered a severe windstorm (which my family and I experienced in our tent in Fort Parker State Park) and a large tree limb fell very close to this marker.

Born May 26, 1811. An early Ranger in the Texas war for Independence. Member Captain Seale's Company, 1835-1836, that was organized "agreeable to order from the Council of Texas." Died August 17, 1886.
