A really unknown elevator, this is the smallest of the handful in Powell.

For all we know this is one of the originals, the first of which opened on December 10 1917. That first one was a 35,000 bushel elevator aout the size of this one. By 1922 Powell had a second elevator, built by the Wyoming Mill & Elevator Company, and possibly a third, a Farmer's Coop elevator.

While it's losing some of its siding, the elevator appears still to be in use. How they get grain into the elevator, though, isn't apparent, as it no longer has a scale shed to unload trucks. It does have a really nice "Welcome to Powell" sign, though, along with an "All American City" sign.
