The plaque on the pump reads -

COUNCIL TO CELEBRATE
THE MILLENIUM"GV II Water pump. Mid C19. Ironstone. Square section lever housing with chamfered corners stands on rectangular plinth. Plinth also supports rounded water bowl. Cornice of plain section to top of lever housing terminates in ball finial. Gabled timber shelter is on square section posts. Roof of wooden shingles."
