WDXI-AM signed-on in 1948, and is still broadcasting from this transmitter site of 4 towers east of Jackson, TN along the I-40. WDXI was part of a local network of small-market radio stations known as "The Dixie Network" which operated from 1946 to 1973. WDXI-AM broadcasts that 5000 watts during the daytime, and drops to a thousand watts at night.
WDXI also broadcasts on the 103.7 FM frequency via a 250 watt low-power FM repeater station W279AZ-FM.
