Spencer City Hall is a one-story brick building with a gabled roof. It is home to the administrative offices as well as the Spencer Police Department.
The land on which Spencer sits was opened for settlement during the Land Run of 1889. The town was first settled in 1903 and housing development began. The area was agricultural, but after World War II, residents moved in who worked in the nearby General Motors assembly plant, and Tinker Air Force Base. In 1948, gas utilities were brought to the area, and the town was incorporated. Today, the population is 3912. The town sits on about 5-1/2 square miles of land, north of Highway 62 (N.E. 23rd Street), about 9 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
Spencer has a Council-Manager form of government. The town does not have a website, and its Facebook page shown below is very out of date.
