Taken from Wikipedia, "The Kutz Memorial Bridge is a bridge that carries Independence Avenue across the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C., in the United States. The bridge was designed by architect Paul Philippe Cret in 1941 and construction was completed by the Alexander & Repass Company in 1943. It is named after Brigadier General Charles W. Kutz, Commissioner of Engineering for D.C., and was dedicated in 1954"
