The main entrance to what was intended to be the city of Central Miami is located on the west side of Red Road, at S.W. 34th and S.W. 35th Streets. The Coral Gables Waterway runs east-west between the two streets.
The entranceway for Central Miami was built with all the style and flair that characterized the entrances and plazas of nearby Coral Gables. The Mediterranean Revival style was used in neighboring Coral Gables to create an Old World urbanism. The same Old World feeling was created for the entrance to Central Miami using a Medieval Revival style.
