In Randolph, along North Street, is Central Cemetery, which has a zinc monument for the Howland and Thayer families.
The cemetery is located on the east side of North Street. The monument is well within the cemetery, about 200 ft east of the entrance.
The monument location actually has several of these: the central monument and then three of the individual monuments immediately west of the main monument.
The main monument is four sided and is about six feet tall and two feet wide on each side. At the base, Howland appears on three sides, and Thayer on one side.
On side 1 are the following names listed:
Charles Howland (Veteran of the Civil War)
Bathsheba Howland (wife of Charles)
Side 2:
Emma J. Howland
Louie Howland
Elbridge Porter
Royal E. Howland
Side 3:
Elmer B. Thayer
Albert Thayer
Emma L. Thayer
Side 4:
[None, image of a cross]
The monuments off to the right are about a foot high by 18 inches wide by 12 deep. There is one for Royal, one for Emma, and one for 'Mother.'
