From the trail intersection marked by waypoint 24 E, going north will follow the Rideau Trail towards the Trans Canada Trail. Going west will follow the Rideau Trail 1.6 kilometres to parking lot P6 on the Old Richmond Road. The east-west section of trail at 24 E is the original survey line between lot 32 and lot 33 in concession 5, Nepean township.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
