[Quarterly 1&4 (Gregory - Scotland) Ar a fir tree growing out of a mount in base vert surmounted by a sword in bend az hilted or ensigned by a royal crown in the dexter chief point of the last in the sinister chief and dexter base a lion's head erased of the third; 2&3 three bear's heads erased, muzzled]"Sir Oliver Charles Earle Welby was born on 26 January 1902. He was the son of Sir Charles Glynne Earle Welby, 5th Bt. and Lady Maria Louisa Helen Hervey. He married Barbara Angela Mary Lind Gregory, daughter of John Duncan Gregory, on 18 April 1927. He died on 6 October 1977 at age 75.
He was Territorial Decoration (T.D.) He was also known as 6th Baronet [U.K. Life Peer]. He graduated with a Eton and Ch Ch Oxford Master of Arts (M.A.) He was CC Kesteven , Honour Captain Royal Artillery (Territorial Army) WW II, High Sheriff Lincolnshire 1953 in 1931. He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) (Parts of Kesteven ) in 1931.
---Barbara Angela Mary Lind Gregory was the daughter of John Duncan Gregory. She married Sir Oliver Charles Earle Welby, son of Sir Charles Glynne Earle Welby, 5th Bt. and Lady Maria Louisa Helen Hervey, on 18 April 1927. She died in 1983.
From 18 April 1927, her married name became Welby."
