Long Description:
The Person:
Dr. Duncan Murray is a long-time supporter of the community's recreation programs. He was involved in minor hockey beginning in the 1960s. He helped develop the programs that still operate today in Hinton, Jasper and Edson. As he grew older, he switched his focus to an old-timer hockey program and was one of the founding members of the Jasper Mountaineers.


The Place:
The Centre is a hub for community activity. Statistics from the Town of Hinton show that 50,000 visitors and locals pass through the door every month. Significant renovations were completed in 2010. The Centre includes 2 indoor hockey arenas and 4 indoor courts. The pool facility includes a 6 lane, 25 metre indoor main pool, children's pool, hot tub, steam room and wheelchair lift.
