A bench made from stone is dedicated to Det. Corporal James Grimes and placed beside a flag pole at Tucker Field in Cumberland, Rhode Island.
The four foot wide seat is set among a small rock garden surrounding a flag pole at a high school athletic field. The top surface is engraved, its letters painted black, and reads:

February 22, 1963 - August 26, 1996
A great son. A great brother. A great cop. A great friend.
Detective Corporal Grimes was found murdered in a rental car in a Providence, Rhode Island parking lot. The homicide remained unsolved as of the time of this post, March 2019.
