Greenwood Cemetery is located on N.W. Main Street (Highway 54), on the western edge of Weatherford. This memorial is high on a hill overlooking the Cemetery, on the highway, south of Huber Street. It is a semi-circular memorial, which is flying seven flags - for the country, state and branches of the military.
Beneath each flag is a polished black granite obelisk with an engraved seal of six branches of the armed forces, and another for the American Legion. On each of the obelisks are the engraved names of those who died in the various wars. Two granite benches sit facing the memorial. A dedication monument indicates that the memorial was made possible by the generous support of the City of Weatherford. Black donated pavers are set into the walks with the names of veterans who helped provide this memorial. At the center facing the flags is a bronze sculpture of the Battlefield Cross.
