"Row of 6 dwellings, in terrace of back to back construction. Circa 1830. Cobblestone construction with brick dressings and welsh slate roof. Each cottage is of one and a half units and 3 storeyed, with plank doorway flanked by casement windows of 1 and 2 lights to ground and first floors, and a single 2-light casement to attic. Openings have brick quoins and cambered heads (flat timber lintels to attic window) and there are also brick dentilled eaves and angle quoins. Axial stacks. Reputedly built by the Hothorpe Estate to house silk hat makers, the workshops being in the attics."
