La grande hune (aluminium brossé)
Cette oeuvre acquise en 2008, dans le cadre du 40e anniversaire du Cégep de rimouski réalisée par l'artiste en arts visuels Gwenaël Bélanger est installée au centre du rond-point situé devant l'entrée principale de l'établissement. Elle est composée d'un mat en aluminium brossé de trente pieds sur lequel se greffent une hune - où se poste la vigie pour scruter l'horiszon de façon à déterminer la route à suivre pour arriver à bon port - et d'un oiseau de mer qui symbollise l'environnement et indique que la terre est proche. L'oeuvre interpelle par sa hauteur, sa sobriété et sa légèreté. En empruntant l'allée centrale, le regard glisse naturellement jusqu'à l'escalier, monte vers la porte d'entrée principale et s'élève vers le clocher.

This work, acquired in 2008 as part of the 40th anniversary of the Cégep de Rimouski by visual artist Gwenaël Bélanger, is installed in the center of the roundabout located in front of the main entrance of the establishment. It is composed of a brushed aluminum mat 30 feet high on which a mast is attached - where the lookout is posted to scrutinize the horizon so as to determine the road to follow to arrive safely - and where a sea bird that symbolizes the environment indicates that the land is near.
