" De hoofdingang bevindt zich in de Sint-Janstraat 18. Ernaast staat het huis Hersbeek en iets verderop bevindt zich de Sint-Antoniuskerk. Het is een roodgekleurd huis.
Het grootste gedeelte was tot ongeveer 1500 in het bezit van de familie Van Zelbach. Vanaf 1505 was het van Hiëronymus van Oisterzeel. In 1534 werd het huis herbouwd na een stadsbrand. In januari 1536 kochten twee edellieden, Jean de Hocron en Nicolaes d'Aubermont, een stuk grond met de restanten van een afgebrand huis. In datzelfde jaar begonnen ze met de bouw van een nieuw huis. Beide edellieden bekleedden een functie aan het hof van graaf Hendrik III van Nassau.
Van 1577 tot 1610 was het gebouw als Augustinessenklooster in gebruik, van 1625 tot 1637 samen met nr 16 als Jezuietenklooster en later kazerne.
Van 1848 tot 1952 fungeerde het als een rooms-katholiek burgerweeshuis. De voorgevel is in 1887 vervangen. Deze bestond oorspronkelijk uit rode baksteen met natuurstenen banden en kruiskozijnen. In de voorgevel is het wapen van Brederode aangebracht.
In 1952 werd het huis Ocrum verkocht aan de Academie Sint-Joost. Van 1953 tot 1954 vond er een ingrijpende verbouwing plaats. Van 1994 tot 1996 was er een herinrichting en restauratie ten behoeve van de huisvesting van de Nieuwe Veste. "

"The main entrance is in Sint-Janstraat 18. Next to it is the Hersbeek house and a little further on is the Sint-Antonius church. It is a red-colored house.
The largest part was in the possession of the Van Zelbach family until around 1500. From 1505 it was from Hieronymus van Oisterzeel. The house was rebuilt in 1534 after a city fire. In January 1536, two noblemen, Jean de Hocron and Nicolaes d'Aubermont, bought a piece of land with the remains of a burned-down house. In the same year they started building a new house. Both noblemen held a position at the court of Count Henry III of Nassau.
From 1577 to 1610 the building was used as an Augustinian monastery, from 1625 to 1637 together with nr 16 as a Jesuit monastery and later barracks.
From 1848 to 1952 it functioned as a Roman Catholic civil orphanage. The facade was replaced in 1887. This originally consisted of red brick with natural stone bands and cross-frames. Brederode's coat of arms has been applied in the facade.
In 1952 the Ocrum house was sold to the Sint-Joost Academy. A major renovation took place from 1953 to 1954. From 1994 to 1996 there was a redesign and restoration for the housing of the Nieuwe Veste. "

La plus grande partie était en possession de la famille Van Zelbach jusqu’à environ 1500. À partir de 1505, il était de Jérôme van Oisterzeel. La maison a été reconstruite en 1534 après un incendie dans la ville. En janvier 1536, deux nobles, Jean de Hocron et Nicolaes d'Aubermont, achètent un terrain avec les restes d'une maison incendiée. La même année, ils ont commencé à construire une nouvelle maison. Les deux nobles occupaient un poste à la cour du comte Henri III de Nassau.
De 1577 à 1610, le bâtiment fut utilisé comme monastère augustin, de 1625 à 1637, avec le n ° 16 comme monastère jésuite et plus tard comme caserne.
De 1848 à 1952, il fonctionna comme un orphelinat civil catholique. La façade a été remplacée en 1887. Celle-ci se composait à l'origine de briques rouges avec des bandes de pierre naturelle et des cadres en croix. Les armoiries de Brederode ont été appliquées sur la façade.
En 1952, la maison Ocrum a été vendue à l'Académie Sint-Joost. Une rénovation majeure a eu lieu de 1953 à 1954. De 1994 à 1996, les logements de la Nieuwe Veste ont été repensés et restaurés. "
