Une église existait déjà au XVème siècle.
L'église ancienne en pierres blanches (du calcaire sans doute) a été partiellement détruite pendant la 1ère Guerre mondiale.
La tour clocher carrée à la toiture en ardoises a été restaurée mais la nef a été reconstruite en briques dans les années 1920.
L'église de Hamelet est dédiée à saint Nicolas.

The old white stone church (probably limestone) was partially destroyed during the First World War.
The square bell tower with its slate roof has been restored but the nave was rebuilt in brick in the 1920s.
