Castle Letterbox Bell Tower - Hernani, NSW, Australia - Bell Towers on Waymarking.com

The sloping/tapering stone wall that leads up to the stone Bell Tower over the Homemade Themed Mailbox has the name of the rural property, or the family name, on it - "Wilmot". [Though the Wilmot Cattle Company seems to be based a further 4.5 km north of this letterbox/Bell Tower. (visit link) ]

While the cylindrical Bell Tower looks like a stone turret, with a slightly curved wooden door for the mailbox, it is capped with an eight-sided, low-pitched, metal-clad roof. There are four wooden framed openings, to the 'cardinal points'. I wasn't game to test it, but it appeared that opening the wooden door of the letterbox operated and pulled a cord to swing the bell that hangs off the centre of the roof atop the turret/castle. The Bell Tower stands about 3 metres high, and is about 1.2 metres in diameter. It is probably made of local stones, cemented together. It stands beside the rutted dirt driveway to the house, the other side of a slight gully.
