Kentucky is a small village on the New England range of the Great Dividing Range. It is about 17 km south of Uralla, and 35 northwest of Walcha. It is at an altitude of ~1066 metres. Wikipedia also gives that it was the 2006 census that stated the surrounding area had a population of "311". The Kentucky railway station, on the Main North Line, opened in August 1882, but closed quite a while ago (possibly 1975). The area became largely settled from returned soldiers from the Great War, and then World War Two.

[After a comfortable late night sleeping-over at the Walcha Rest Area I was on my way to find a geocache west of here, and then a Trig Point.]
