Vor dem Messnerhaus am Übergang von der Ober- zur Unterstadt wurde im Sommer 1997 den "verdruckten" Allgäuern ein Denkmal gesetzt, ein Denkmal wider Humorlosigkeit.
Den Spruch, wonach von 6 Allgäuern, aufeinander-"gebeigt" der unterste so "verdruckt" sei wie der oberste wurde bei dieser Brunnenplastik hervorragend umgesetzt.
Die Plastik wurde "reinrassig" gehalten da Männer schon ein wenig mehr "verdruckt" seien als das schöne Geschlecht.
Dass auch der Klerus von "Verdrucktheit" nicht frei ist wird durch die unterste Figur dargestellt auf diesem lasten diverse Figuren.
Die Figur mit dem vorgehaltenen Spiegel spuckt zumindest während der warmen Jahreszeit Wasser auf ahnungslose Passanten.
Die Sprüche auf dem Sockel sind im heimatlichem Dialekt geschrieben.

In the summer of 1997, in front of the Messnerhaus at the transition from the Upper to the Lower Town, the "verdruckte Allgäuer" was commemorated, a monument against humorlessness.
The saying that 6 of the Allgauern, on the other side, "the bottom one" as "misprints" as the top was implemented excellently in this fountain sculpture.
The sculpture was kept "purebred" because men are a bit more "crazy" than the fair sex.
