Costa Maya is a port in Mexico utilized by many cruise ship lines. A newer feature of this port is a flamingo exhibit which contains a rock fountain. The 6' diameter fountain is slightly elevated from the wading pool of the aviary. A circle of nine large rocks are laid on their edges forming a barrier. In the center of the circle a pair of jets of water shoot up above the rocks to a total height of four feet.

The surrounding artificial lagoon environment is the home for about a half dozen of American flamingos (Phoenicopterus ruber) which are native to the Yucatan peninsula. Besides the fountain, aviary includes, wading area, beach area, and vegetation areas.
