NRHP Nomination Form"The Southern Hotel is a fine and rare example of a provincial interpretation of the Second Empire style, popular in Texas during the 1870's and 1880's. In addition, the hotel has served the community of Llano first as a stagecoach stop, and later as a hotel and boarding house. For many decades it served as a social center as well. Architecturally sound, the hotel remains as one of the few surviving structures of the Second Empire style found within the state."
