A memorial bench dedicated to Josephine M. Gernsheimer is in a formal garden at the southern end of Wilcox Park, immediately east of the public library in Westerly, Rhode Island. It is placed on the west edge of a heavy slate walkway. Made of oak, a brass plaque is attached at the center of its top horizontal plank and is engraved:
