Bahnhofskreisverkehr seit 2016
Der Bau- und Wirtschaftsausschuss hat der Gestaltung des Bahnhofskreisels in der Kulmbacher Straße zugestimmt. Vorgesehen ist die Errichtung von vier farblich gestalteten Bögen, die die Tore der Stadt symbolisieren. In der Nacht ist die Konstruktion mit Scheinwerfern illuminiert.
Der Kreisel hat einen Durchmesser von 21 Metern. Die Verkehrsinsel soll mit Schiefersteinen und niedrigen Pflanzen gestaltet werden. Doch als besonderes Gestaltungselement werden die vier Stadttore Saalfelds als jeweils neun Meter hohe Bögen dienen, die im Geviert angeordnet werden. Die Bögen aus Stahlrohr haben einen Durchmesser von 30 Zentimeter und werden deshalb sehr filigran wirken. Die Stützweite ist mit jeweils sieben Metern veranschlagt. Die Rohre werden verzinkt und durch einen Farbanstrich gestaltet.

The Construction and Economic Committee approved the design of the railway station in Kulmbacher Straße. The construction of four colored arches, symbolizing the gates of the city, is planned. In nighttimes there are some spotlights to illuminat this construction.
The gyroscope has a diameter of 21 meters. The traffic island is to be designed with shale and low plants. However, as a special design element, the four city gates of Saalfeld will serve as nine-meter-high arches arranged in the square. The bends made of steel pipes have a diameter of 30 centimeters and will therefore have a very delicate appearance. The span is estimated to be seven meters. The pipes are galvanized and painted with a paint coat....
