The plaque reads:

IN MEMORY OF
THE CREW MEMBERS KILLED
MARCH 29, 1985 CFB NAMAO

The names of the 10 men follow.

CFB Namao is the former name of what we know now as CFB Edmonton, which is located in this region. According to popular accounts, the collision was due to human error.

On the 30th anniversary of the disaster, (visit link) reported a quote from a former soldier. "If they had the proper briefing that American pilot would have asked how they do a bomb burst. The Canadian pilot was banking while the other plane was supposed to count so many seconds and then bank, but instead he banked too soon and came right up underneath the other Herc."
