If you have a few thousand half-bricks from building, possibly the nearby Library, what would 'the average punter' think of doing with them?!? Probably just give them away for road base, or other foundational work. But not here.
Apart from the 1.5 metre diameter partially buried sphere, there are four partially buried cubes made of the half-bricks, and the courtyard surrounding them is also constructed of the half-bricks.
While the Library was opened in September 1981 [Wikipedia: (
visit link) ], I am not sure if that is when the Artistic Seating was also made/created.
