During the winter season in the Central North Island the lakeside town of Taupo becomes a hive of activity for the skiers and snowboarders and all those other people who thrive on the cold white slopes of our beautiful mountains in the Tongariro National Park at the southern end of Lake Taupo.

And if the slopes of Whakapapa or Turoa are closed due to an overdose of the "white stuff" on Mt Ruapehu, there will probably be an invasion of these little creatures, known as Ski Bunnies, wandering around the streets of Taupo looking for something else exciting to fill their day.

This Ski Bunny was painted by artist Paul Walsh. The Ski Bunny Utility Box sits on the footpath against a rock wall in Ruapehu Street outside Farmers department store.
Name of Artist: Paul Walsh.

Title of the Art: Ski Bunny.

Year Decorated: 2018.
