This appears to be the only "official" cemetery within the City of Fernie, although a number of older burial sites are know or suspected to exist within the city (see WM104XJ for more details) (visit link)

According to the City of Fernie's website, St Margaret's Cemetery "
includes a heritage section which dates back to the late 1800's. In 1948 the City took over operation of the cemetery from the Crowsnest Pass Coal Company and expanded its operation"

The Find A Grave website lists 4507 memorials for this cemetery, while a study released in early 2013 reported 542 people to be buried at St. Margaret’s Cemetery - although this is possibly the number of burials between 1889 and 1911, since that was the time period which the study focused on.
