From July 17, to August 2, 1945, Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam, Germany was the location of the Potsdam Conference, at which the leaders of the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States decided the post war order for Europe and Asia.
In 1970, the East German postal service honored the 25th anniversary of the Potsdam Treaty (Potsdamer Abkommen in German) with a special edition stamp. The stamp displays a historical picture of the conference. Of course it was not possible to replicate that, but the conference room in which the negotiations took place is one of the most popular tourist spots in Europe and the conference table is one of the most photographed tables in Germany.
