Cette cloche, qui sonne le si, a été bénie en 1808 par l'abbé Charles Francois Painchaud. Elle porte l'inscription T. Mears & Son of London FECIT 1808
Cette cloche a joué un rôle au clocher de la première église de Tracadièche, construite en 1791 par l'abbé Joseph Mathurin Bourg, et rénovée par son successeur l'abbé Louis Joseph Desjardins, prêtre arrivé au Canada après avoir fui la révolution française. C'est sous son ministère que l'église reçoit le patronage de Saint-Joseph comme protecteur de la paroisse.
La cloche de l'église joue un role primordiale dans la vie de la paroisse. À cette époque, elle est le moyen de communication le plus important, étant donné sa longue portée acoustique.
De son clocher, elle annonce les événements importants de la communauté allant des fêtes du village aux appels à tous, des décès aux incendies.
