"SAN SIMON, Ariz. — Two rest areas along Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona near the New Mexico line have reopened after being closed for more than a year.

"The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound and westbound San Simon rest areas recently reopened after being closed since March 2015 for repairs that included drilling a new well.

"The rest areas had been scheduled to reopen last December, but the department says the work took longer than expected because the new well had to be dug deeper to reach enough good water to supply both rest areas.

"The project also included improving septic systems and upgrading buildings.

"The Texas Canyon rest area also along I-10 in Cochise County in southeastern Arizona has been closed for repairs since December. It's scheduled to reopen by early July." ~ Las Cruces Sun News, The Associated Press, May 28, 2016
