Gathering Place is a 100-acre park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The park fronts the Arkansas River and is only minutes from downtown. Construction on the park began in September, 2014. The first 66.5 acres opened in September, 2018. The park features a 5-acre playground, lodge, boathouse, sport courts, bike and skate parks, natural trails and large lawns for concerts. Developed by the George Kaiser Family Foundation and funded with pledges totaling $400 million, Gathering Place is the largest private gift to a public park in U.S. history, and has already received national recognition as one of the finest parks in the country.
