This area was settled in 1876, and a post office was established in 1885, when the town's name was changed to Nimrod. They've seen better days, and today are a nice, quiet rural community. The Nimrod Baptist Church is still active, as I saw a church visitor when I was walking the cemetery across the road. Unfortunately, the church has no Internet presence beyond web-spidered listings, and even the sign down the road doesn't list service times. Arrive early on a Sunday!
