This flagpole on the Walpole Town Green is dedicated to Everett "Rocky" Rockwood, Jr., a U.S. Army soldier who fought in the Battle of Normandy and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and the Combat Infantry Badge.

In Walpole, on the Walpole Town Green, is this flagpole and rock with a plaque on it for Private Everett "Rocky" Rockwood, Jr.
The monument is located on the eastern portion of the green, among other memorials. The flagpole gives it away, however.
The site includes a flagpole, and a rock about two feet cubed (sloping down at one end, though). On one side is a bronze plaque that has the following on it:
