The volcanic crater Los Marteles has a diameter of 550 meters and is about 80 meters deep. It is a young volcanic crater of phreatomagmatic origin and belongs to the so-called explosive eruptions caused by the contact of magma with groundwater.
Opposite the vantage point there is a signpost showing the height measured here (1528 meters) as well as two directions for the hike.
