The forest-green painted wooden bench is about 5 foot wide, and made up of multiple narrow slats of timber, with a pronounced curving shape at the top of the backrest, and front of the seat. The paint on this bench is in quite good condition. The two outer supporting metal straps are welded to metal posts, that are set into small concrete pads, while the central strap provides extra strength and support. The slat that the cast bronze plaque is inset into is about twice the width of the other slats. The plaque has a textured black background, and is held in place with four brass Philips-head, counter-sunk screws. It reads:

"Beloved Husband of Ruth. Devoted Father of Leighton and Caroline; Step-Father of Jacob Newman. Proud Grand-Father of Henry Otis. Loving Brother of Graham and Lesley. Will be sorely missed by his many friends and colleagues.
