Près d'ici naquit en 1706 au manoir de Contrecoeur Claude Pierre Pécaudy sieur de Contrecoeur, 3e seigneur fondateur du Fort Duquesne devenu la ville de Pittsburg, Penn., E.-U. Par sa stratégie, il fit capituler George Washington lors de la bataille de la Monongahéla en 1755.

Near here was born in 1706 at the Contrecoeur manor Claude Pierre Pécaudy sieur de Contrecoeur, 3rd Lord founder of Fort Duquesne which became the city of Pittsburg, Penn., USA. By his strategy, he made George Washington capitulate at the Battle of the Monongahela in 1755.
