The stone monument is in a small circular landscaped garden at the intersection, creating a round-about for Hickory and Cudgery Streets (aka Waterfall Way). It is surmounted by a soldier, carved from white stone. It has the carved names (with gilded lettering) of the World War One Service men (and women) who gave their lives.
From the Monuments Australia website, there is an excerpt from the Sydney Morning Herald of 20th April, 1921:
"On Saturday afternoon the soldiers memorial was unveiled by General Cox in the presence of a large crowd. The stone is inscribed with the names of 41 men who laid down their lives in the late war and states that Dorrigo's contribution of men to the war was 461." Dorrigo
As it was rather wet when I was there I wasn't able to get the best photos (the falling rain can be seen). [Also, it is right in the middle of the major intersection!]
On the eastern face is the following inscription:

Gave Their Lives That We Might Live.
"Lest We Forget"
