Marker Text:
This one-story commercial building with running bond brick pattern has a history of serving the community and the state. In the mid-1920s, this building housed Midco Feed until the Texas National Guard began occupying the building between 1926 and 1943. This was the home of the 132nd Field Artillery, 36th Division, Texas National Guard. It served as the armory and later as living quarters for 130 soldiers during WWII. In 1944, the building again served the farming and ranching industry by housing King Brothers Implement Co. which became the Farmers Implement Co. of Cleburne. In 1953, E.M. Prather and H.C. Westbury established Johnson County Feeders Supply Inc., which is still in business today.
