I was in the Marine Corps and stationed at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, and in the summer of 1960 a couple of us came over to the leeward side of the island, because of a movie being shown at Hickam Theater...Frank Sinatra, Steve McQueen and others in Never So Few...
As we were pulling into the parking lot big Marciano said "Hey!!! your famous. look at the friggin' sign....how'd that happen, you flaming [blank-blank]??
I did not respond...that stuff went on all the time...most of it you just ignored.
And low-and-behold my name on a street sign. I took a picture of the sign.
Now, since it was in 1960...and Waymarking did not exist...I did not get a photo of me at the sign...and since it is more than 3,000 miles from where I am now...that ain't gonna happen.
I am told Springfield St. is now Westover St...not sure why.
